However, event schedules, screenings, guest appearances, traders, exhibitors, activities, ticket availability and other arrangements may change.

Guest appearances and programme announcements are subject to availability and confirmation. The inclusion of a guest, screening or activity in promotional material does not guarantee that it will take place exactly as advertised.

Individual guest appearances, autograph opportunities, photo opportunities, workshops and other activities may be subject to separate charges, availability or booking requirements.

Where material changes occur, we will endeavour to communicate them through our website and relevant official channels.

5.2 Saturday HorrorCon Tickets

Saturday HorrorCon adult tickets provide general admission to HorrorCon on Saturday 3 July 2027.

This includes access to the general convention areas and activities included within standard admission, subject to capacity and applicable restrictions.

Saturday film screening blocks are not included in the standard Saturday HorrorCon adult ticket.

Saturday film screening blocks are available separately at £6 per block, subject to availability, capacity and applicable age restrictions.

Certain guest experiences, merchandise, workshops or other activities may involve additional charges.

5.3 Sunday Film Festival Tickets

Sunday Film Festival adult tickets provide admission to the festival on Sunday 4 July 2027.

Sunday film screenings are included within the ticket price, subject to venue capacity, scheduling and applicable film classifications.

Admission to a particular screening cannot be guaranteed if the screening room has reached capacity or the attendee does not meet the relevant age requirements.

5.4 Weekend Tickets

Weekend adult tickets provide general admission to the event across Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 July 2027.

Weekend adult tickets include access to Saturday and Sunday film screenings, subject to venue capacity, scheduling and applicable age restrictions.

This screening entitlement applies specifically to the weekend adult ticket and differs from the Saturday-only HorrorCon adult ticket.

Additional paid experiences, where advertised, may not be included in the weekend ticket.

5.5 Under-16 Admission

General admission is free for children and young people under the age of 16.

Under-16 admission is available for Saturday, Sunday and weekend attendance, subject to the applicable booking process, capacity and age restrictions.

The following screening conditions apply:

  • Saturday: Free general admission does not include Saturday film screening blocks. Eligible under-16 attendees must purchase a separate £6 ticket for each Saturday screening block they wish to attend.

  • Sunday: Sunday film screenings are included with free under-16 Sunday admission, subject to capacity and applicable age classifications.

  • Weekend: Free under-16 weekend admission includes eligible Sunday screenings but does not include Saturday film screening blocks. Saturday screening blocks require separate £6 tickets.

Free admission does not override any screening classification, age restriction or venue safety requirement.

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that children only attend screenings and activities appropriate for their age.

Any additional supervision or accompanying-adult requirements will be published through the relevant booking information and event guidance.

5.6 Screening Access and Capacity

All film screenings are subject to capacity, published schedules, venue arrangements and applicable age classifications.

A ticket that includes screenings does not guarantee admission to every individual screening or a particular seat.

Attendees may be required to queue, present their tickets or follow additional screening-specific admission procedures.

Where separate screening reservations or tickets are required, these must be obtained through the designated booking process.

BHFF reserves the right to make reasonable programme, timing or screening-room changes for operational, safety or other legitimate reasons.

Any statutory rights arising from significant changes or failure to provide purchased services remain unaffected.

5.7 Admission and Event Conduct

Attendees may be required to present a valid ticket, booking confirmation or other admission credentials.

Tickets are valid only for the event, date, ticket category and entitlements stated in the booking confirmation.

BHFF and venue staff may enforce reasonable admission, security, health and safety requirements.

We reserve the right to refuse admission or require an attendee to leave where their behaviour presents a genuine safety risk, involves harassment or abuse, breaches applicable law or seriously disrupts the event.

Such decisions will be made reasonably and in accordance with applicable law.

5.8 Refunds, Cancellations and Postponements

Tickets for leisure events taking place on specified dates are generally excluded from the standard 14-day consumer cancellation right

under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

This does not remove any other statutory consumer rights.

Any voluntary refund, exchange, transfer or resale arrangements will be governed by the applicable terms disclosed during the ticket purchase process.

If an event is cancelled, postponed or materially changed, ticket holders will be informed of the available options and any applicable refund or other legal entitlements.

A change to an individual guest appearance, trader, screening or activity does not automatically entitle every ticket holder to a refund.

However, this does not affect any rights arising where a change materially alters the event or the service purchased.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Age Restrictions and Content

Birmingham Horror Film Festival and HorrorCon may feature material intended for mature audiences, including disturbing imagery, strong language, violence and other horror-related themes.

Certain screenings, activities or areas may carry specific age restrictions.

Film screenings will be subject to applicable age classifications and admission requirements.

Attendees must comply with the age restrictions displayed for each screening or activity.

Where age verification is required, attendees may be asked to provide suitable identification.

Free under-16 general admission does not grant access to age-restricted film screenings or activities for which an attendee is not eligible.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for children attending activities where accompanied admission is permitted.

Additional child supervision arrangements may apply and will be communicated through the relevant event guidance.

7. Film Submissions

Film submissions to Birmingham Horror Film Festival are managed through FilmFreeway or another officially designated submission platform.

Submission fees, eligibility requirements, deadlines, technical specifications, selection criteria and applicable platform terms will be provided through the official submission process.

Submitting a film does not guarantee selection, screening, nomination or an award.

Filmmakers must have the necessary rights and permissions to submit their work, including rights relating to footage, music, performances and other third-party material.

Unless otherwise agreed, filmmakers retain ownership of their submitted films.

Any permission granted to BHFF to review, screen or promote selected work will be governed by the applicable submission terms and permissions.

8. Traders and Exhibitors

Businesses and individuals interested in trading or exhibiting at HorrorCon may submit an application or enquiry through our website.

An enquiry or application does not guarantee acceptance or allocation of exhibition space.

All trader and exhibitor applications are subject to review, availability, suitability and confirmation by the event organisers.

Where an application is accepted, specific commercial terms may be provided covering matters such as fees, payment deadlines, stand allocation, permitted products, setup requirements and event conduct.

8.1 Mandatory Public Liability Insurance

All traders and exhibitors participating in HorrorCon must hold valid Public Liability Insurance covering their trading or exhibition activities for

the duration of the event.

This requirement applies to all approved traders and exhibitors, including independent businesses, sole traders, artists, creators and other commercial exhibitors.

Traders and exhibitors must:

  • Maintain appropriate and valid Public Liability Insurance for their activities at the event.

  • Provide evidence of their insurance, including a valid insurance certificate or policy documentation, when requested by BHFF or the venue.

  • Ensure their insurance covers the activities, products and services they intend to provide at HorrorCon.

  • Notify the event organisers if their insurance is cancelled, expires or otherwise ceases to provide the required cover before or during the event.

BHFF reserves the right to refuse participation, withhold access to exhibition space or require a trader to cease trading if satisfactory evidence of valid Public Liability Insurance is not provided.

Any applicable minimum level of insurance cover will be specified within the trader application, booking or acceptance requirements.

Traders remain responsible for arranging and paying for their own insurance.

8.2 Trader Responsibilities

All traders and exhibitors must comply with applicable legislation, venue regulations and event-specific requirements.

This includes, where relevant:

  • Product safety and consumer protection requirements.

  • Electrical and equipment safety.

  • Fire safety and emergency procedures.

  • Safe setup, operation and dismantling of stands.

  • Appropriate handling and sale of merchandise.

  • Any restrictions relating to prohibited, unsafe, counterfeit or unlawful goods.

  • Relevant licensing or permissions for products and activities.

Traders are responsible for the safety and lawful operation of their own stands, products and activities.

Traders must follow reasonable instructions issued by BHFF, venue management or authorised event staff.

BHFF may decline or remove a trader whose activities create an unacceptable safety risk or breach applicable event requirements, subject to the relevant agreement and applicable law.

8.3 Booking and Commercial Arrangements

Trader spaces are subject to availability and written confirmation.

Submission of an enquiry or application alone does not create a binding commercial arrangement.

Stand fees, payment deadlines, cancellation arrangements, allocation details and any additional requirements will be confirmed through the relevant trader booking process or agreement.

9. Sponsorship and Partnerships

Sponsorship, advertising and partnership opportunities are subject to availability, suitability and agreement between the relevant parties.

Information published on this website about sponsorship packages, pricing or partnership opportunities is provided for general information and does not constitute a binding offer.

Deliverables, fees, payment schedules, promotional rights, cancellation arrangements and other obligations will be confirmed in a separate written agreement where applicable.

BHFF reserves the right to decline a proposed sponsorship or partnership where it is inconsistent with the festival's values, audience or operational requirements.

Commercial or marketing partners do not automatically become the contracting party for event admission, ticketing, film submissions or other transactions.

10. Photography, Filming and Event Media

Photography and filming may take place at BHFF and HorrorCon for event documentation, publicity and promotional purposes.

Where photography or filming involves identifiable individuals, personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.

Specific filming notices or additional permissions may apply to particular activities.

The use of event photography or footage will be subject to an appropriate lawful basis under applicable data protection legislation.

Attendees should contact the event team if they have concerns about photography or filming at the event.

You may access website content for personal, non-commercial information purposes.

You must not reproduce, distribute, modify or commercially exploit protected material without permission from the relevant rights holder, except where permitted by law.

Film artwork, promotional images, trailers and other third-party creative materials remain the property of their respective owners.

12. External Websites and Services

Our website may link to external websites, including FilmFreeway, ticketing platforms, transport services and social media.

These services operate independently and may have their own terms, privacy policies and security arrangements.

Attendees, traders and exhibitors are expected to follow reasonable safety instructions and applicable venue requirements.
