The Birmingham Horror Film Festival & Convention is a spine-chilling celebration of horror cinema—showcasing indie films, cult classics, twisted shorts, and more from around the globe. Whether you’re a filmmaker, a horror buff, or just like a good scare, this is your haunt. We are combining this with 2 packed halls of traders selling everything from collectables, props, artwork, sculptures, toys, clothing, jewellery, books, comics, everything you can think of! Not only that we have special makeup effects demos, cosplay, and the odd special guest thrown in for good measure.

The festival & convention takes place on 11th - 12th October 2025 in Birmingham, UK—perfectly timed for Halloween season. The main venue this year is at the Austin Sports & Social Club in Longbridge Birmingham. Check our website for full listings and updates as they become available.

Due to the nature of horror content, most screenings are 18+. Some daytime sessions may include age-appropriate programming, but parental discretion is advised and anyone deemed under 18 not accompanied by an adult may get turned away. The Convention itself does not have any age rating.

Absolutely! We encourage it. Come dressed as your favorite villain, ghoul, or creature of the night. We also host a Cosplay Contest with killer prizes.

Yes! We have 2 halls filled with traders. We’ll have exclusive festival merch, horror art, posters, and collectibles on sale throughout the 2 day event. Yes, in addition to screenings, we run filmmaker Q&As, FX makeup demos, and industry speakers. These sessions are a great way to go deeper into the genre.

Our venue is wheelchair accessible and close to major transport links. Parking is available onsite and has 200 free parking spaces, there is also a public multi story car park right next to the venue. If you have specific access needs, please get in touch—we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Absolutely. While the scares are real, the vibe is welcoming. We love curious newcomers as much as die-hard scream queens. Just bring an open mind… and maybe a nightlight.
